LBBC Women’s Breakfast

Let’s Beat Bowel Cancer hosted its first women’s breakfast at Syracuse Restaurant in the Melbourne CBD on 7 June 2019.

Sixty successful, trailblazing women came together to discuss bowel cancer research with The Honorable Lord Mayor, Sally Capp, Cabrini Foundation Director, Sue Parkes and Postdoctoral Research Officer at Cabrini Monash Department of Surgery, Dr Rebekah Engel.

Both Sally and Sue talked about their own experiences with cancer, and the importance of raising awareness and funding important research programs, like our organoid project. Rebekah Engel, who leads the organoid project, aims to personalise treatment for cancer patients and will hopefully pave the way to finding a cure in the future.

Thank you to our event sponsors Mars Confectionary, Rutherfords Jewellery, BasketCase Hampers, Tahbilk Wines, Ark Clothing, Red Rock Venues, MP Jewellery and Specsavers.

If you wish to be involved in the next Women’s Breakfast or would like to support the organoid project, please contact Tanya Gutteridge, LBBC Project Manager at tgutteridge@cabrini.com.au
