Former Special Care Nursery Patient Gives Back

Six-year-old Kyron spent three weeks in Cabrini’s Special Care Nursery (SCN) after he was born.
Parents Dan and Priyanka Willis had their baby boy at Cabrini on 25 January 2015, five weeks before he was due. He was transferred to the SCN with early mild hypoglycaemia and low weight, and stayed for three weeks until he gained weight and was able to feed better.

Now, Kyron has spent his own pocket money on a bookshelf to donate to our SCN as a way of saying thank you.
“The hospital nurses and doctors took care of me when my mum and dad couldn’t be there and I like to give back to others,” Kyron said.

Mum Priyanka said she loved that as a family they had instilled charitable giving though a share, spend and save jar.
“I think it’s so important for kids to see that they can make others happy from small acts of generosity.”
Thank you Kyron for your beautiful gift, which will now allow parents to spend time reading to their babies in our SCN.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Readings, for the generous donation of beautiful children’s books.
