Cabrini Foundation will be holding a night to remember with a music themed movie night on Wednesday 4th September to raise funds for Cabrini Prahran’s Palliative Care Music Therapy Program.
Guests will attend a screening of Aretha Franklins ‘Amazing Grace’ at Palace Cinema Como.
‘Amazing Grace’ features the live recording of Aretha Franklin’s Amazing Grace album in 1972. It co-stars James Cleveland, C. L. Franklin, Bernard Purdie, Chuck Rainey and Clara Ward with cameos by Mick Jagger, Sydney Pollack, and Charlie Watts. The Movie was released shortly after the singer’s death in 2018 and has been since met with critical acclaim.
At Cabrini Prahran, Music Therapy is used to support the two major palliative care goals: to promote patients’ quality of life by alleviating physiological, psychological, social and spiritual distress; and to improve comfort.
Our collective support will provide new equipment for the Music Therapy Program which plays a vital role in bringing comfort to patients, their friends and family during their journey through palliative care.
Join us to enjoy an amazing movie experience. Your ticket will provide you with a small popcorn and small drink on the night and the opportunity to see a breath taking film performance from the soul queen herself.
